Furthermore, Mahindra has streamlined the charging process to ensure convenience for users. The eKUV100 can be charged from 0-80% in approximately 55 minutes using a fast charger, or to 100 percent in 5hr 45min on a regular charger with a full charge taking around 8 hours. On the powertrain front, the EV comes equipped with a 15.9kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor. The electric motor produces 40kW and 120 Nm of torque.
The Mahindra eKUV100 also maintains an identical design to its petrol derivative. Like a lot of the other electric vehicles, the mini-electric SUV has blue accents, strategically placed at the front, on the wheels, and at the rear of the car. The most noticeable change is the updated front grille, featuring a closed-off design with a small arrow-shaped insert, highlighted with six blue accents. Additionally, two flaps will cover the charging ports.
In the interior segment, the Mahindra eKUV100 boasts a range of advanced technological offerings, making it a compelling choice for modern consumers. With features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto support, and Apple CarPlay support, the eKUV100 enhances convenience and connectivity for drivers. The seating capacity of Mahindra eKUV100 is for five to six persons.
Other notable features include keyless entry, climate control, cruise control, hill descent, power steering, ABS and a central locking system. It’s worth noting that the final production version of the eKUV100 may undergo enhancements, potentially featuring an improved driving range of around 250 km.
Although we can’t say for sure when the eKUV100 will hit South African roads, one thing’s for certain: this compact SUV is bound to win the hearts of eco-conscious and budget-savvy drivers alike.
