Mahindra Lines Up New SUVs for 2024!
Mahindra didn’t make any bold moves in 2023 but the word on the street is that they will be introducing some updates to existing models and some new models to their lineup – including some electric vehicles (EVs).
We take a look at what we are likely to see on the road from Mahindra in 2024.
Updates To Existing Models
There are some updates to existing models, that are mostly cosmetic, but will no doubt make these SUVs even more attractive.
XUV300 All New Look
The Mahindra XUV300 could receive an EVi-inspired revamped front end with new LED DRLS and headlights, new alloy wheels, and a connected LED tail lamp. On the inside, it is expected to get a floating touchscreen. It seems like it will feature the same powertrain options as the current model – a 1.2L turbo petrol with multipoint fuel injection, a 1.2L turbo petrol with direct injection and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine.
XUV700 Facelift
The XUV700, which launched in 2021, is already a popular choice in the mid-size SUV segment. Currently offered as a 5- and 7-seater, Mahindra is introducing a new 6-seater with captain chairs for the middle row.
Exterior updates to the XUV700 could include a new grille and headlamps giving it a stylish fresh edge. On the inside will be three screens, auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated seats, and an electric tailgate. The option of a 2.0-litre petrol or 2.2-litre diesel engine will remain the same as far as we know.
XUV400 EV New Features
The XUV400 will be updated with an improved equipment list and more features to the cabin of the electric SUV. The most notable changes will be a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Other standout changes are a flat-bottom steering wheel and dual-tone interior. The new XUV400 also boasts cruise control and a dual-zone climate system.
On the outside most notable updates are a copper roof, dual-tone theme, blacked-out pillars, shark-fin antenna, LED DRLs, dual-tone alloy wheels and LED taillights.
The EV is set to retain the same battery pack options – 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh.
Bolero Neo Plus
The Bolero Neo Plus is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2024. The latest passenger version of the Bolero Neo Plus will come with a 9-seater layout. The exterior won’t change but the interior will come with a 7-inch infotainment, semi-digital instrument cluster, and all power windows. It comes as a 2.2-litre diesel engine as opposed to the standard Bolero Neo’s 1.5-litre diesel engine.
Mahindra Thar 5-door
The Thar 5-door is set to be launched in March and will get a new look of sorts with a refreshed front grille, circular LED DRLs, new alloy wheels and new bumpers. Again on the inside, we could see a bigger infotainment system and sunroof. The Thar will most likely come in a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine as well as manual and automatic gearbox options.
Exciting New Model
Mahindra XUV.e8
The most exciting launch has to be the XUV e8, which is the electric version of the XUV700. This is the first-born electric car from Mahindra and the first 7-seater EV! The XUV.e8 will be based on the INGLO skateboard platform, but it’s actually similar to the XUV700, with the same layout. The e8 will come with a bigger grille and a new DRL design as well as tail lamps and new alloy wheels. On the inside, there is a new dashboard layout with three 12.3-inch screens.
Although we are uncertain whether these new Mahindras will reach South African shores in 2024, they already have a wonderful lineup of models available locally. Why not browse Group1 Mahindra’s website to find a new or used Mahindra that suits you?
