What New Mahindra Vehicles Are Coming Soon?
The news on the street is that Mahindra is planning to launch three SUV models internationally in the coming months, creating quite a buzz. We have the lowdown on what the industry is saying.
Apparently, the three SUVs that will hit the market over the coming months and into 2024-2025 are the five-door Mahindra Thar, the facelifted Mahindra Bolero and a new look Mahindra XUV300.
Mahindra Thar Gets Five Doors
The Mahindra Thar three-door is a popular offroader that has a distinctly rugged look and is made for the modern-day adventurer. Now this affordable all-terrain vehicle is getting an extra two doors, making it a five-door version.
The new Thar is also said to be getting an increased wheelbase and a new set of alloy wheels. There is some noise about a newer split-style 7-slat grille and LED headlights on the exterior. Inside it will sport a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, push-start button and automatic climate control, making this variant just that much more modern. The powertrain on the five-door Thar will however allegedly remain the same.
There is no news on when it will be launched in South Africa but we are holding thumbs that it will, since the current model has been discontinued.
Mahindra Bolero Gets a Facelift
Rumour has it that the Bolero will retain its muscular look but will get some more modern touches in the facelift. We are looking at a launch in the second half of 2024 or early 2025 according to those in the know.
The new Bolero will be built on the same platform as the Scorpio-N with different turbo-diesel options.
The Mahindra Bolero is a great value-for-money easy-to-drive, no-frills bakkie that performs well on South African roads, and so we are hoping it makes its way down south too!
Mahindra XUV300’s New Look
Expected to launch in the first half of 2024, the sub-compact SUV, the Mahindra XUV300, gets a new look too – very similar to the Mahindra XUV700. A revamped exterior with newly designed LED taillights, and front and rear bumpers are on the cards. The XUV300’s interior features will also be beefed up but under the hood, the powertrain remains the same as before.
South African Mahindra Launches
In South Africa over the next few months, Mahindra will be introducing some new additions including the single-cab Pik Up Karoo Dawn, XUV300 XPREZ, and Scorpio-N Adventure Edition.
The Karoo range has to date only been offered as a double cab, but now the Single Cab Karoo Dawn is set to be the first special-edition model in this body style!
The XUV300 XPREZ is a custom-built panel van version of the standard crossover and is only available in the South African market, aimed at transport for businesses looking for a commercial vehicle in the sub-one-tonne market.
The special-edition Mahindra Scorpio-N Adventure Edition is said to come complete with custom-built bumpers that increase its approach and departure angles, off-road-focused tyres and suspension, and a roof rack!
Clearly, Mahindra’s hard-working vehicles are sought after both internationally and locally. Looking for a Mahindra SUV? Visit our Group1 Mahindra page now to find your perfect fit!
